FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF JUST PLAY?

The purpose of the Just Play lacrosse league is to provide an easy opportunity for girls to sign-up and just play. The goal is for players to have fun and get better with less running, more ball touches and more playing time within a smaller 6v6 format. This league is great supplemental training to the fall community team season and is also a unique chance to have fun competing in a new way in North Texas. 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PLAY?

Just Play is open to girls from all communities from grades K through 12. We welcome all levels of experience.

WHEN WILL GAMES BE PLAYED?

Games will be played within a several hour window on Saturday mornings or early afternoons. Game times for each team will be posted once finalized. 

WHAT ARE THE RULES OF THE GAME?

Rules will be adjusted to suit the sixes format. Games will be officiated by certified referees. Rules will be published when finalized but are subject to change should it be deemed in the best interest of the league.

WHAT IF YOU HAVE A CONFLICT?

We appreciate that this is the off-season and many girls have conflicts or play other sports. We do not expect every player will necessarily be able to play every game. 

WHEN ARE PRACTICES?

There are no practices for Just Play Lax.

HOW ARE TEAMS DETERMINED?

FORMAT

• Players register as free agents and will have the opportunity to play with a different group of players each week. We do our best to pair friends together - while also giving everyone an opportunity to make new friends and play with/against players on different schools and travel clubs!

WHO ARE THE COACHES?

Just Play teams/games are not managed by “coaches”. Instead, teams/games will be assisted by one or two sideline coordinators.  The coordinators’ main purpose is to ensure that subbing runs smoothly throughout the game and the players get equal playing time. For the youngest age groups there will be some instruction, as the K-4th graders will need more direction on the field and more help with the basic fundamentals. But for the older groups, the idea is for them to be able to "Just Play", without being coached and critiqued.
